Overview
As an RF Communications Technical SAT-2 team member at CalgaryToSpace, I work across ground-station software, radio hardware and onboard telemetry for FrontierSat.
Ground station
The system combines Python tooling with an ICOM IC-9700, GNU Radio, GPredict, an AlfaSpid rotator and a crossed-Yagi antenna for tracking, uplink and downlink.
Onboard communication
I support integration of the GOMSpace AX100 UHF transceiver, antenna switching and STM32-based C/C++ telemetry software, alongside acquisition, testing and verification of RF hardware.
